Criminal defense: Texas man facing charges after punching child

Mar 22, 2018 | Criminal Defense

It is common knowledge that consuming alcohol can make people act unlike themselves and lose normal restraint. While some individuals’ actions may be overall harmless, others may go too far and end up in a serious legal predicament due to acting violently. As a result, parties may need to determine their best options for creating criminal defense presentations.

One man in Texas will undoubtedly want to ensure that he understands his possible defense options after recently being charged. Reports stated that the allegations stemmed from an event that allegedly involved the man and a 12-year-old girl. Apparently, the man had been at a restaurant consuming alcohol when the young girl came to the establishment with her mother and the mother’s boyfriend.

Reports indicated that the girl had ventured close to the man in order to pet a dog that was near him. For unknown reasons, the man purportedly attacked the girl and punched her in the face. Two patrons attempted unsuccessfully to pull the man off before the mother’s boyfriend kicked the man in the head. The girl did suffer injuries in the incident, and the man is now facing criminal charges for injury to a child, public intoxication and resisting arrest.

After sobering up, many people regret the actions that they carried out while intoxicated, and that may very well be the case for this Texas man. Nonetheless, he will still need to address the charges brought against him, which may mean creating a criminal defense presentation. In order to understand what strategies may work best for his situation, he may find relevant legal information useful.
