Assault charge brought against woman after alleged road rage

Misunderstandings, false accusations and lacking details could all play a part in a person's case if he or she is accused of a crime. In some cases, parties will contact the police because they believe someone is acting in a threatening or intimidating manner. It is possible for such a complaint to lead authorities to arrest a person and charge him or her with assault.

It was recently reported that a woman in Texas was taken into custody after an alleged road rage incident. Apparently, the woman had been driving through an area, stopping abruptly and swerving. It was unclear why the incident started or whether these actions were targeted toward a specific person, but nonetheless, the driver and another individual started arguing.

The alleged victim stated that the driver pulled out a handgun, and after that, the victim contacted police. No shots were fired, and no one was injured in the incident. Officers later caught up with the suspect and purportedly found a weapon that matched the description given by the victim. As a result, the woman was taken into custody and is currently facing a charge for aggravated assault.

This Texas woman undoubtedly did not expect the situation to end in her arrest and an assault charge, and it is important that as much information regarding the incident is gathered to ensure the accuracy of witness statements. It is also in the woman's interests to gain information on her available criminal defense options. Planning a defense may allow her to feel more in control of her undoubtedly overwhelming situation.
